What is Kinerase?

One look at the glowing portrait of Courtney Cox on Kinerase's website and you know that this product is designed to treat wrinkles.  In the photo it appears that Courtney has either found a really great wrinkle treatment or a really great airbrush artist to tweak her photos.  All jokes aside, I have checked out many wrinkle treatments and I have never seen a celebrity as famous as Courtney Cox giving a testimonial for a product, so it actually does make me take notice.  Kinerase offers a whole line of skin products including the anti-wrinkle treatments and those that are designed to help with acne.  There are so many products available from Kinerase that it is difficult to know where to start.  In this article, we are going to take a look at the anti-aging products, including Kinerase cream, which received the Editor's Choice Award from Allure magazine.

How does Kinerase work?

Kinerase puts out so many different anti-aging products that it is hard to summarize how all of them work.  Kinerase cream, which is one of the most popular products, is a potent moisturizer that reverses the consequences of sun damage and works to make skin look younger and healthier.  It claims to deliver this intense moisture by improving barrier function of the skin to decrease transepidermal water loss.  I have never heard of another moisturizer that treats skin with this technology, so it is hard to be sure of the accuracy of these claims.  However, this product is actually sold in dermatology offices, so that lends it more credibility.  Kinerase cream is hypoallergenic which means it is will not cause an allergic reaction in most people, but even with a hypoallergenic product there is still a slight chance that a user could experience a reaction.  Kinerase cream is also non-comedogenic, which means that it won't clog your pores.

In addition to Kinerase cream, it is recommended that you use the Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment.  This product fights wrinkles but does not contain any moisturizing agents, so it is definitely recommended that you use it along with Kinerase Cream so that your skin doesn't get dried out.  This product is meant to make your skin look tighter and reduce the signs of sun damage.  It contains argireline, which is an active ingredient in many of the wrinkle fighting products that I have reviewed.  Microencapsulated L-Ascorbic Acid is another ingredient in this treatment that claims to deliver Vitamin C to the skin while creating oxidation.  I have never heard of this ingredient in another skin care product, and Kinerase does not offer much scientific validation to back up their claims about it.  The Peptide treatment also contains green tea extract and vitamin E that act as antioxidants that fight free radicals to keep skin from future damage.  Lastly, I find it curious that this product has hyaluronic acid when it claims not to include a moisturizing agent.  Hyaluronic acid is included in many other wrinkle treating creams and always promises to help moisturize and nourish skin.

How do I use Kinerase?

Kinerase Cream is meant to be applied twice daily, once in the morning and once at night.  The Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment only needs to be used once per day, either morning or night.

My Likes

Although it is cheesy, I do like that Courtney Cox is a spokeswoman for Kinerase.  They may very well be paying her a boatload of money to make a little Internet video that says she likes their products, but she does have great skin and so it makes me keep reading more about Kinerase.

My Dislikes

Kinerase has a very nice website, but I did notice one important thing missing.  Where is the mention of some sort of money back guarantee or at least a free trial?  It appears that Kinerase does not offer one, which is pretty discouraging for someone who is on a budget and does not have mountains of money to spend on trying various wrinkle treatments.

Kinerase Cream is priced reasonably; it costs $117 for 2.8 fluid ounces.  However, it is meant to be used in conjunction with the C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment, which costs $96 for 1 fluid ounce.  Of course the manufacturers recommend that you use both of these products together in order to achieve maximum results, so you are looking at a commitment of more than $200 to try this line of anti-aging treatments without any sort of money back guarantee.

Lastly, Kinerase offers so many different types of wrinkle treatments that I wouldn't even know where to start if I wanted to take the risk and order something.  Besides the two products that I have profiled here, you can order all sorts of other items.  Kinerase Extreme Face Lift, which promises to give your face an immediate lifting effect.  Kinerase Extreme Eye Cream offers to reduce the appearance of your crow's feet within five minutes of application.  Kinerase Ultimate Daily Moisturizer is another moisturizing product, but I can't see how it differs from the plain old Kinerase Cream.  Then there is the Daily Defense Cream with SPF 30 that helps to protect against future harmful rays from the sun that could encourage aging.  If all that wasn't enough, you can also pick up the Instant Radiance Facial Peel that promises to exfoliate skin, make it smoother and more radiant.  All these products are priced in the neighborhood of $100 or more, so it is understandably discouraging to consider trying the whole line without a money back guarantee.

My Conclusion

Courtney Cox and various dermatologists may use Kinerase, but I am just too skeptical to try it without that money back guarantee.  Even in the case of high quality products, no one treatment is going to be effective for everyone.  I may be that one person who does not see any positive results from Kinerase.  If that is the case I would like to return the product and get my money back, but there is no opportunity to do that with Kinerase.  My two favorite products are still Athena 7 Minute Lift and LifeCell.  These are great products that work for most people, but if they don't, they do have a money back guarantee so you can trade them in to try something else.
