Everything You Need to Know About Hydroderm Age Defying Wrinkle Reducer

 Hydroderm Ratings Chart

Hydroderm is a whole line of skin care products that aims to improve your skin through moisturizing and fighting the fine lines and wrinkles.  In this article we are taking a look at Hydroderm's Wrinkle Reducer, which is a topical anti-aging cream.  The website for this product claims that it is better than Botox.  With such a bold statement, it causes one to wonder whether the product will stand up to the hype.

The fine lines and wrinkles on your face are caused by a variety of factors.  Sun exposure, gravity, time, stress and hormonal changes can cause these changes in your skin.  The biggest contributing factor to wrinkles is a loss of collagen in the skin.  Collagen holds your skin up to gravity and as time and external factors take their toll, the collagen in your skin depletes and your skin begins to look and feel older.  Skin becomes dry and dull and wrinkles start to form.  This is the problem that Hydroderm was designed to combat.  The goal of Hydroderm is to revitalize your skin with the collagen that it is lacking to create smoother skin that looks healthier and younger.

How Does Hydroderm Age Defying Wrinkle Reducer Work?

Some people choose to treat their wrinkles by injecting collagen under their skin.  This can be a very expensive and uncomfortable procedure.  Thus, the appeal of Hydroderm is that you can apply collagen to your skin in a painless topical cream and achieve the same results.    Collagen is a large molecule and that makes it difficult for the skin to receive a boost of collagen through the application of a topical cream.  That doesn't stop many anti-wrinkle creams from trying.  Some contain partial collagen proteins.  Others have hydrolyzed collagen, which are basically smashed collagen molecules.  However, Hydroderm is different in that they claim to have a unique technology, which allows the skin to absorb whole collagen molecules directly.  The technology that Hydroderm cream employs is called Collagen Infusion Delivery System.  This system was actually given a U.S. Patent in 2004.  Hydroderm also contains: Distilled water, Cephene, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Synasol, Purified water, Sodium Methylparaben, Imidezolidinyl Urea, Trisodium EDTA, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid and Ascorbic Acid.

How Do You Use Hydroderm?

Hydroderm is a topical wrinkle cream, so the instructions for using it are pretty basic.  For best results, the website recommends using Hydroderm twice a day.  In the morning you can wash your face with a cleanser.  Be sure to shake the bottle of Hydroderm before you apply it.  At first, use just one pump of the product and see if you can cover your whole face.  You only need to use enough of the product to lightly cover your skin, but if you can't cover it completely with one pump, go ahead and use two.  There is no need to over-apply this product.  You will simply use it up faster, and it won't give your skin any added benefit.  You can apply Hydroderm and then put your makeup over top, but be sure to let the Hydroderm dry a bit before you add the additional makeup layer.

In the evening, wash your face again to remove the makeup and the dirt that your face has picked up during the day.  Apply another thin layer of Hydroderm to your skin and allow it to soak into your skin before you go to sleep at night.  If you follow this regimen for three weeks, Hydroderm claims that you will see results.

My Likes

Hydroderm is available online from an official website.  It was easy to place my order and the product arrived promptly.  The Collagen Infusion Delivery System technology in this product was actually granted a U.S. Patent in 2004, which gives it quite a bit of credibility.  Hydroderm costs $79.95, which is pretty average as far as wrinkle creams go.  Also, there is an opportunity to try the product free for 30 days.  This is always an advantage since you never know if a particular anti-wrinkle cream will be effective for your skin.

My Dislikes

Despite the fact that Hydroderm claims to have been granted a U.S. Patent for its Collagen Infusion Delivery System, I am skeptical as to whether this is an effective way to treat wrinkles.  Their justification might seem logical, since it is common knowledge that wrinkles are caused by depletion of collagen in the skin due to time, sun exposure, stress and hormones.  If wrinkles are caused by a lack of collagen, it would make sense to apply more collagen to your skin.  However, there is little research to support that applying collagen in the form of a topical cream will actually do anything to reduce wrinkles.  Hydroderm's website does nothing to approach the skepticism that their well-educated, potential customers might have.  There are no words about clinical trials, scientific research or other data to back up the claims.

The efficacy of Hydroderm's collagen technology is dubious at best.  Also, this product has paraben preservatives, which have been known to contribute to dermatitis outbreaks for some people with sensitive skin.  You do not want to contract dermatitis.  It will make your skin itchy, weepy, and red, and the whole experience will be very uncomfortable.  If you do choose to try Hydroderm, you will have to wait three weeks to see if your skin will have any positive results.  In addition, Hydroderm does not offer a “no questions asked” money back guarantee.  There is a free trial for 30 days, but since they claim that the product will not show results for three weeks, your time to return it and stop the company from billing you is pretty limited.

My Conclusion

The bottom line is that Athena 7 Minute Lift is still my favorite product.  It actually shows results within 7 minutes of applying the cream to my face.  To me, 7 minutes is a whole lot more convenient than the three weeks it is supposed to take for Hydroderm to make any effect.  I trust Athena 7 Minute Lift because it does not claim to be a miracle cure.  It gives your face a lift when you apply it, but the manufacturers do not say that this product will erase the wrinkles from your face forever.  From the looks of the website, Hydroderm is supposed to reduce wrinkles and be even better than Botox injections.  These claims sound a little too hyped up for me to believe, so I'm going to stick with Athena 7 Minute Lift.
